IP MAN

he said, let's go for a movie.

didn't ask what movie were we going for until in the car. he said with excited tone, IP MAN. “I" as in 埃 and "P" as in 匹 in mandarin.

i was thinking, what kind of movie is that... since there has been so many "whatever-man" movies, like superman lah, x man lah, and the latest yes man etc.

then i asked, who's the main cast. he cried, donnie yen! by then i was still puzzled.

at the ticketing counter, he told the malay attendant, 埃匹man for two.

while i was waiting for him when he took a puff, i saw the poster for IP MAN. so it is a chinese movie with the chinese name, 叶问. with my not-so-ok cantonese, i've finally figured out the "IP MAN" is suppose to be read in cantonese!!

oh my gosh, and he was so confidently buying ticket by reading the movie name as in 埃匹man! he was lucky that it was a malay boy who was at the ticketing counter. otherwise we will sure have to cover our blushed face while fleeing the scene!! so embarrasing!! ; >
